Congratulations to Amoeba Music for being awarded a Platinum recycLA Star by the Los Angeles Board of Public Works. Amoeba is setting a powerful example for Los Angeles businesses by incorporating environmentally sustainable practices into daily operations.
Known as the largest independent music store in the world, Amoeba operates locations in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Los Angeles.
As their recycLA service provider, Athens Services conducted a waste assessment and implemented recommendations that increased Amoeba’s waste diversion rate from 61.5% to 75%.
Amoeba prioritizes reuse and recycling through several impactful initiatives:
The recycLA program is a public-private partnership launched by the City of Los Angeles to provide efficient and customer-friendly waste and recycling services for businesses, institutions, and multifamily properties.
The recycLA Star program recognizes organizations that actively participate in recycling, landfill diversion, and food recovery efforts.
Athens Services proudly supports recycLA, serving three major zones that represent the largest service area in Los Angeles. We are honored to recognize Amoeba Music for their outstanding sustainability efforts.
Thank you, Amoeba Music, for being a model of environmental leadership in Los Angeles.
