Helping Businesses Take Recycling to HEART

If you run a business in California, you face a lot of requirements regarding how to handle waste, recycling, and now food waste with the kickoff of SB 1383. Unfortunately, there’s no way around the regulations, but fortunately, Athens is here to help ease the burden.

Introducing “HEART” – Healthier Environments with Athens Recycling Training, a program specialized for businesses.

What is HEART?

HEART is a comprehensive education and outreach recycling training program for businesses like yours.

How does it work?

Athens recycling coordinators visit participating businesses to conduct waste audits and develop a plan tailored to their unique needs. They will train staff on how they can reduce waste and increase recycling, along with providing up-to-date information on how to comply with environmental laws.

How do I take part?

Enrolling in the HEART program is simple:

Enroll by calling the Athens Customer Care Center at (888) 274-2074
Select employees from your business who will be trained to carry out the program and train others
Keep track of and report on your progress

What’s in it for me?

Each business that enrolls in the program and completes the training will receive the following:

A certificate of recognition
A listing on the HEART web page with a link back to your business
A HEART window decal to display at your business
