HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT
Athens Services is providing document shredding services at no charge. This is your opportunity to clean out old files and properly dispose of personal papers without compromising your personal information. The paper shredding will be done on-site and you will be able to witness from your vehicle the destruction of your documents. After the documents are thoroughly shredded, the paper is recycled. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2023 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center Parking Lot 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd. Redondo Beach, CA 90278 How to prepare HHW items for transportation:- Boxes should be placed in the trunk of your car for removal
- Bring the items in a sturdy box, preferably in their original labeled containers
- Do not mix items together • There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip
- Be prepared to leave your containers and boxes
- Participants must stay inside their vehicle at all times
- This event is for Redondo Beach residents only
- Please be sure to bring proof of residency
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
HHW is any product labeled toxic, poison, corrosive, flammable, combustible or irritant, such as used motor oil and oil filters brake fluid, paid, paint thinner, pesticides, and car batteries
UNIVERSAL WASTE
U-waste includes: household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermostats, sharps (needle syringes), and expired medications
NOT ACCEPTABLE
Bulky items, such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, sofas, tables or other large-tohandle items. These items can be scheduled for pick-up by calling Athens at (888) 336-6100.
