Glendora Residents Say “Thank You!” to Athens Services Drivers With Block Party

Residents along Scottdale Avenue in Glendora surprised their two Athens Services truck drivers today with a block party thanking them for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents along Scottdale Ave in Glendora surprised their two Athens Services truck drivers today with a block party thanking them for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic

Several families came together to cheer on drivers Julian and Tristin and shower them with music, snacks, thank-you cards, water, and other treats. “It was quite an event,” said Athens Route Supervisor Valentin Martinez.

“They are very helpful, clean, always on time – we really appreciate them! Thank you so much!” one resident said. Several created and displayed signs of gratitude for being on the frontlines of removing waste generated by the current public health crisis and helping to minimize the spread of the coronavirus
