Meet Alexander Sale, a Heavy Equipment Mechanic who joined the Athens team in September 2024 and has already made a strong impact. From childhood dreams of heavy-duty trucks to a passion for hot rods, Alexander’s journey is a compelling example of how following your interests can lead to a fulfilling career.

With over four years of experience working with heavy machinery, Alexander is essential to keeping Athens’ fleet running at peak performance. His responsibilities range from replacing diesel particulate filters to repairing hydraulic lines and utilizing advanced diagnostic tools like Caterpillar software. For Alexander, each task is an exciting challenge.

“Fixing machines is like solving a puzzle. I enjoy when there’s a diagnostic code because it gives me a clear path to follow,” he shares, highlighting his analytical and problem-solving mindset.

What drew Alexander to the mechanic position was the flexibility to travel between Athens’ various facilities and opportunity to work on a variety of different heavy-duty vehicles.

His advice for aspiring mechanics? “Start with an entry-level position or enroll in trade school, invest in building a strong tool collection, and don’t shy away from challenges. Even if you don’t get it right the first time, perseverance and creativity will lead you to success.”

Outside of work, Alexander enjoys life with his girlfriend Meghan, their Torti Shell cat Maserati (4), and their Husky-Samoyed mix Olaf (11). A Simi Valley native now residing in Glendora, Alexander is a dedicated fan of the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Rams, and Ohio State Buckeyes – where his father played.

His love for cars extends into his free time, whether it’s drifting at Apple Valley Racetrack or rebuilding an engine for his next project. His dream? To one day own a Ferrari 360 Modena with a six-speed manual transmission.
