Whittier Greenway Trail Clean-up Event

Athens Team Members Band Together to “Keep Whittier Prettier”

In celebration of Earth Day, Athens Services team members joined volunteers, Whittier Police, and Parks and Recreation staff to give the city’s Greenway Trail some much-deserved care. The popular hiking path draws over half a million visitors annually. The cleanup is one of several Earth Day events in Southern California that Athens supports or participates in.

Educating Customers Through Town Halls, Presentations, and Events 

As SB 1383, California’s new Short-Lived Climate Pollutants reduction law, rolls out across the state, cities are busy taking steps to help residents and businesses comply. Athens Services is helping with outreach, education, town halls, presentations, and events. The goals: divert food waste from landfills, and save edible food that might have been thrown away for those in need.
