Salvador started with Athens in 1992 as a Helper on residential routes and became the driver of the “mother truck” of the backyard service vehicles in San Marino. He then moved on to drive a commercial truck in Pasadena and in unincorporated areas of Covina and Glendora.
Since 2011, Salvador has worked as a Transfer Driver for the City of Industry Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). He transfers waste from the MRF to the landfills in San Bernardino County.
Salvador is passionate about his work and sees Athens as a second home. He knows his safety accomplishment is part of a bigger picture and is not due to his work alone.
“I want to give thanks to the supervisors, the owners, and everyone who has put up with me over the years,” Salvador said with a smile.
Salvador lives in La Verne with his wife, Alejandra. The couple has two adult children, daughter Alejandra and son Salvador Jr.
“We appreciate Salvador and want him to stay with us until the day he retires,” said Andy.
