FREE COMPOST GIVEAWAY & SHRED EVENT

Saturday, October 12, 2024 8:00 – 11:00 am Downey City Hall Parking Lot 11111 Brookshire Avenue Downey, CA 90241 COMPOST GIVEAWAY Athens’ compost is a blend of organics material including a mix of green waste, wood waste, and food scraps.* Our compost is OMRI Listed® and licensed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. *May contain small particles of glass.

• Downey residents only
• Bring sturdy container(s)
• No plastic bags allowed
• Residents may receive up to 30 gallons while supplies last
• No container larger than 32 gallons (due to safety & weight concerns)
• Drive up only (no walk-ins)

SHRED EVENT Athens is hosting a free shred event for Downey residents. Residents may bring up to three (3) banker sized boxes for shredding per household. To learn how to use Athens compost in your home garden visit bit.ly/AthensCompost.

Participation in the event and all items accepted are at your own risk. It is the attendees’ responsibility to practice safe lifting and take all protective measures to guard against injury or any other loss.
