Athens’ compost is a blend of organics material including a mix of green waste, wood waste, and food scraps.* Our compost is OMRI Listed® and licensed by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Please note this event is for Santa Paula residents only (proof of residency or ID required).

• Self-service, drive-up event (no walk-ins)
• Bring shovels, a dolly, and sturdy containers
• No plastic or paper bags
• Available while supplies last

Electronic Waste (TVs, Computer Monitors, Printers, Microwaves, Flat Screens TV, Tablets, Laptops, keyboards, mouse cables and speakers), Alkaline Batteries, Lithium Batteries, Ni-Cad Batteries, Fluorescent Lights, Compact Fluorescent Lights

NOT ACCEPTABLE

Oil Based Paint, Toxics, Poisons, Corrosives, Flammables, Combustibles, Irritants, Brake Fluids, Paint, Thinners, Pesticides, Medical Sharps, Medications, Mercury, Marine or Road Flares, Explosives, Ammunition, Radioactive Materials, Tires

Bulky items, such as refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, sofas, tables or other large-to-handle items. These items can be scheduled for pick-up by calling Athens at (888) 336-6100.

Household trash

Participation in the event and all items accepted are at your own risk. It is the attendees’ responsibility to practice safe lifting and take all protective measures to guard against injury or any other loss.
