Thank you, Mayor Alejandra Cortez and City Council of the City of Bell Gardens, for inviting Athens Services to be a part of the Bell Gardens Drive-Thru Meal Distribution on May 16! This amazing event provided food for hundreds of community members coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Athens and its employees joined volunteers from other corporate sponsors and local community organizations to distribute 300 bags of groceries at John Anson Ford Park. Volunteers and food recipients wore appropriate face masks and practiced social distancing to operate safely.
We are grateful to Mayor Cortez and Councilmember Pedro Aceituno for inviting us and for surprising Athens volunteer Susan Ayala with a plaque recognizing Athens’ support! Service to our communities is a cornerstone of Athens’ daily operations and philosophies.
