Athens Services will pick up all bulky items on your service day. Please place bulky items curbside by 6 a.m. and we will do the rest.

Spring Cleanup Information

Athens Services will pick up all bulky items on your service day during the week of May 18 – May 22, 2026.

Athens will remove FREE OF CHARGE bulky items such as sofas, chairs, mattresses, and other large household items and appliances in unlimited quantity.

Please place bulky items curbside by 6 a.m. and we will do the rest. Any items placed at the curb later than 6 a.m. may not be picked up.

Please consider donating items that are still usable to a local thrift store or charity.
Bulky waste placed for collection shall not be of a volume exceeding the capacity of the truck’s bucket. Additional waste placed beyond this limit can be collected by Athens using a temporary bin service for a fee.

Please contact Athens at (888) 336-6100 to arrange to have a bin delivered for any additional waste for a fee.

  • Sofas
  • Chairs
  • Mattresses
  • Refrigerators
  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Computers
  • VCRs
  • TVs
  • Other Electronic Equipment
  • Bushes/branches/lumber (must be placed in trash cansor tied in bundles no longer than 4 ft.)
  • Unframed plate glass (glass larger than 2 sq. ft. must be broken and put into trash cans)
  • Automobile tires (up to 2 collected)

NOT ACCEPTABLE

  • Hazardous waste (any product labeled toxic, poisonous, corrosive, flammable, combustible, or an irritant)
  • Asphalt or concrete
  • Spoils of heavy construction
