Commercial Driver Armando Tovar looks forward to going above and beyond to serve his customers. For the past 10 years, he has driven route #185 to service businesses in the San Gabriel Valley. He feels a strong sense of responsibility for the community he services and wants to ensure that customer needs are exceeded.
At a local Sunkist Elementary School on service days, he gets out of his truck to help a custodian who struggles to lift trash into the bins.
“It’s not part of my normal responsibility but it is customer service that they deserve, and I’m sure they appreciate,” said Tovar.
Over the years, he has formed great relationships with many customers. Every day, children on his route give him a wave or a thumbs up. They know they can rely on Armando to keep their schools and community clean. It’s those moments that bring him the most joy.
“If you give Athens your best, they will give you, their best. That’s why I like this company. I’ve been very fortunate to work here and provide for my family.”
Everyone at Athens puts customers first. That’s The Athens Way. The next time you see a driver, give them a friendly hello or a wave, they especially like waves.
Aside from work, Armando is a great athlete! He has participated in the Athens Softball and has dominated the Athens Basketball League. More importantly, family is important to Armando. A driving force in his life is his wife, Veronica, and their two daughters, Alejandra, 25, and Amanda Sofia, 17.
Armando, on behalf of the entire Athens Services Team, thank you for going above and beyond to exceed our customers’ and community’s expectations.
